Snoring is ANNOYING
Snoring is NOT SEXY
Snoring is NOT HEALTHY.
Everyone snores, right?
Well, it may seem that way with 35% of US adults reporting snoring every day and 50% snoring occasionally.
Unfortunately, all of this snoring is NOT normal and more importantly NOT healthy.
Snoring is the sound that is made when the airway is blocked.
This blockage means much less oxygen makes it to the lungs and brain!
Most importantly, snoring can be a sign of undiagnosed Sleep Apnea.
Life Threatening Sleep Apnea
Sleep Apnea simply means during sleep you stop breathing multiple times.
Some people with sleep apnea snore loudly and even gasp for air while sleeping.
This results in lack of oxygen to the lungs and brain. Obviously, a lack of oxygen to the brain and rest of the body is not a good thing. Most patients with untreated sleep apnea wake feeling unrefreshed and suffer from daytime sleepiness. Sleep Apnea can make you 3x more likely to be involved in a fatal car crash as a result of being over-tired.
Sleep Apnea causes trouble for bed-partners as noisy snoring and gasping can lead to poor night sleeps or even sleeping in separate rooms (or floors) for the bed partner.
Sleep Apnea has serious medical complications.
Untreated Sleep Apnea increases risk and complications associated with:
High Blood Pressure
Death. Sleep Apnea is connected to estimates of about 40,000 deaths per year in the US.
Don’t ignore your sleep apnea symptoms any longer!
Sleep Apnea and snoring treatment:
Improves Quality of Lives
Adds many years to the end of your life
At Dental Arts Group, we provide comfortable non-surgical and non-CPAP solutions for sleep apnea treatment.
Our Apnea oral appliances are like “night-guards” or orthodontic retainers that go over the teeth and are worn at night during sleep.
The Dental Arts Group Sleep Apnea dental appliance:
Keeps the airway open
Stops snoring and apnea
Stops struggle with C-PAP masks, hoses, or loud machines
Dentists at Dental Arts Group are consulted for treatment when:
- Patient has been diagnosed with Mild, Moderate, or Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), has a sleep study within the last 3 years, and has a referral/letter of Necessity from their Sleep Physician, Pulmonologist, or Primary Care Doctor.
- Patient has tried, but cannot tolerate or wishes to stop CPAP treatment. Whether it's from leaky masks, embarrassing hoses and masks, or difficulty sleeping only on back or side, these patients have tried, but CPAP is not for them. Not complying with prescribed CPAP therapy, puts patients lives and health at risk. These patients must find an alternative answer to CPAP.
- Patients who have tried the Infomercial or boil-and-bite varieties of apnea mouth guards with no success. Having an infomercial one-size-fits-all guard can do more harm than good. At Dental Arts Group, we make customizing an oral appliance takes great detail and examination.
For those that may have symptoms of sleep apnea, but do not have a sleep apnea diagnosis or a sleep physician, we help refer to a sleep physician for diagnosis and referral for oral appliance to help get you on the way to being healthy.
